Bridgewater, NJ – New Jersey children’s author Marcie Aboff will visit the Crim School to talk to students about her books.
Her full-time position is working at Rutgers University in the communications and marketing department, but her passion is writing.
Aboff, who grew up in Hillside and now lives in Edison, started writing 25 years ago.
“I was writing for a newspaper and writing commercials, and then I had my first child 28 years ago,” Aboff said. “I started reading books to him and thought it was so much fun. I wanted to try and see if I could write.”
Twenty-five years later, Aboff has published a hundred books. Most are children’s books, but some are educational.
Aboff is best known for her book “The Giant Jelly Bean Jar” published in 2004. It is her best-selling book.
“I’m thrilled and happy,” Aboff said of his career. “I love writing children’s books and I have some that haven’t been published yet. I love writing for kids, I love visiting schools. I love getting kids interested in books. ”
As a bestselling author, Aboff passes on his joy of writing and books to the younger generation. She visits different schools and camps and offers different programs according to age level.
