Art portfolio program helps improve skills and teach new styles

Art Portfolio is an extracurricular activity at our school where you create art. You can only do this if you want to work hard, are up for a challenge, and have great artistic skills.

You start Art Portfolio in November and complete five works of art. Three are your choice, one is a self portrait and the other is your take on the work of a well known artist. You meet once a week but also work on projects at home. Then you meet in front of a judge, who scores your work from 1 to 28.

Art Portfolio is a great way to learn more about art, artists, and how to present work. It’s a great opportunity to push your limits and try out new styles. In Art Portfolio, you make new friends and learn from other children in your class.

In April, you will meet the judges to judge your art. It’s scary going to meet the judges, but they are very nice and kind. They ask you questions such as “What supplies did you use?” Why did you think about doing this? What was your inspiration? What was your favorite piece?

I’m so happy to have the privilege of being able to do art portfolio and learn new techniques.
