Bahrain futsal team qualify for Asian Cup


Bahrain have booked a place for the 2022 AFC Futsal Asian Cup after beating the United Arab Emirates 1-0 in an Asian Cup qualifier Group B match.

Salman Al Mulla scored the only goal of the game which was played at Zayed Sports Complex in Fujaira. The Asian Futsal Cup will take place in September in Kuwait.

Bahrain, meanwhile, drew 1-1 with Iraq in last night’s game.

The result propelled Iraq to the top of the standings on goal difference while Bahrain finished second.

Bahrain Football Association (BFA) President Shaikh Ali bin Khalifa Al Khalifa has congratulated His Majesty King Hamad on the qualification of Bahrain futsal team to the Asian Cup.

He also congratulated His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Crown Prince and Prime Minister, for Bahrain’s success.

Shaikh Ali also extended his congratulations to His Majesty’s Representative for Humanitarian Work and Youth Affairs and Chairman of the Supreme Council for Youth and Sports (SCYS), Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa, and First Vice President of the SCYS, chairman of the General Sports Authority and chairman of the Bahrain Olympic Committee, Shaikh Khalid bin. Hamad Al Khalifa.

Shaikh Ali congratulated the team on their performance in the qualifiers and wished them success in the Asian Cup.

BFA Vice President Shaikh Khalifa bin Ali bin Isa Al Khalifa also congratulated the Bahrain futsal team.
