Children listen at a Berkofest Children’s Book Festival event
Proposed by Lauren Mulve
The BerkoFest children’s book festival returns this month to Berkhamsted, Hertfordshire, where a host of events and activities will take place.
The event, which will be held at Rectory Lane Cemetery, a beautiful green space in central Berkhamsted on Saturday June 18 between 9.30am and 4pm, encourages children to participate in author talks, often with their own specially designed interactive workshop – se ending with a Q&A and autograph session.
Attendees will also be able to take part in other activities including “Books in the Woods,” Grave Digger Tales, storytelling, and adventure yoga for kids. An added treat will see the Gruffalo visit BerkoFest.
Star-studded programming must appear, and each author is specifically aimed at a particular age group. The authors scheduled to appear are Blue Peter award-winning author Vashti Hardy, comedian Olaf Falafel and Agent Moose series writer Mo O’Hara.
Organizer Charlie Hussey said: “We are thrilled to have such eclectic programming for children that will engage their imaginations so much, and all of the day’s events will result in a great, enjoyable and educational literary day.”
