STARKVILLE, Mississippi—Delta State University recently became the 12th member library system of the Mississippi Library Partnership, which now includes 66 branches.

Originally established in 1993, the partnership offers member institutions cost savings and shared resources. MLP provides a library automation system, administered by Mississippi State University Libraries, which also provides technical expertise, support, and training to members.

All in Mississippi, member libraries include public and academic institutions with combined holdings of more than 3.1 million items. MLP allows patrons to request books from any member library and pick them up at their own local library.

Including DSU in the MLP adds an additional 334,000 items to the shared collection.

“We are very pleased and honored that Delta State University has made the decision to become a member of MLP. The addition not only increases the resources available to existing members of the partnership, but also significantly expands the resources available to the DSU community,” said Anita Winger, MSU Library Automation System Manager.
