Double A is one of the few brands in Egypt to focus solely on natural leather garments all year round.
Founded by sisters Aliaa and Ayah Aboutera, Double A was inspired by their father, who started a leather manufacturing business in 1977 and has since passed on his vast experience to them. Continuing the family heritage, each piece of Double A is made from 100% natural leather, making their handmade creations incredibly durable. From the cutting of the leather to the insertions of nails and the shredding of the leather fringes, the entire production process is carried out by Egyptian hands.
Their business model also positions them as a zero water brand. By constantly reinventing waste reduction initiatives, including reusing leftover leather trimmings, they give their material a second life.
Double A’s new collection, “Winter Frost”, is inspired by nature and its endless colors, with clothes that exude both femininity and confidence. “The message we want to send to women is that they are powerful enough to change the world,” Aliaa Aboutera told SceneStyled. “What we’re trying to do is create designs that fit that idea and, more importantly, make women feel something, whether it’s feeling prepared for a big event, feeling confident during a first date or in their skin.” Much like their previous collections, ‘Winter Frost’ doubles down on that ethos, this time with a spectrum of earthy tones including Aegean Blue, Lime Green, Ash Brown and Blush Pink. Combined with tassels and studs arranged in flowery shapes, the pieces in the collection embody a sense of feminine freedom and empowerment.
