Graduates prepare for the big day; Reception with the President on May 23

The countdown has begun for future Western Nevada College graduates.
As the first month of WNC’s three graduation ceremonies and reception nears, graduates busy themselves with preparations for their big day.
Drive-in ceremonies are scheduled for Monday, May 23 and Tuesday, May 24 at the Carson City campus and Thursday, May 26 at the Fallon campus. The three ceremonies begin at 9 a.m.
The May 23 ceremony is for Liberal Arts graduates only: Associate of Arts and Associate of Science degrees. May 24, Associate in Business, Applied Science, General Studies and; Bachelor of Applied Science and; those who obtain certificates of achievement are among the winners. The May 26 ceremony is for graduates residing in Fallon and surrounding communities.
Additionally, WNC Acting President Dr. J. Kyle Dalpe has scheduled a graduate reception for 2-4 p.m. May 23 in Carson City. Graduates may bring up to two guests. Graduates have been advised by email that RSVP is essential if they plan to attend the ceremony and/or reception.
Graduates can order their caps, gowns and pom poms online at wncbookstore.com, but students should be aware that it takes about a month for home deliveries. If graduates are unable to order online or wish to do so in person, future dates are being arranged at the Carson City and Fallon campuses for these purchases.
Decorations of graduate celebration caps, gowns and vehicles (each graduate is only allowed two) are welcome. Graduates are asked to use good taste with these decorations. Graduates also have the option of crossing the stage on foot without using a party vehicle.
This is the third year in a row that WNC has featured its launch ceremonies in a drive-thru presentation. These ceremonies were a huge success and there was a lot of positive feedback from the students, their families and friends.
For family and friends of graduates who cannot attend the start in a celebratory vehicle, all three ceremonies will be streamed live on the WNC homepage.
