Founded in 1868, FREDRIX is the oldest canvas brand in United States and is one of the top three canvas brands that artists rely on North America. With this acquisition, MacPherson’s now owns two of the top three canvas brands – and distributes the first three (AA Canvas, FREDRIX and Masterpiece Artist Canvas) – to artists through its strong distribution network.
This acquisition follows a series of strategic steps taken by MacPherson’s to achieve the goal of expanding its product portfolio, services and operational capabilities. The addition of FREDRIX further strengthens its ability to provide its customers with the best range of products to meet the growing demand for art and creative supplies across the world. Founded in 1868, FREDRIX is America’s oldest manufacturer of canvas products. The acquisition of FREDRIX by MacPherson was finalized on April 8, 2022ahead of the NAMTA International Art Materials Association Annual Conference and Trade Show in Orlando Florida (April 10-12). There will be a transition period as MacPherson integrates FREDRIX into his organization. The FREDRIX product catalog will soon be available to all MacPherson customers. The terms of the contract are not disclosed.
