“The Happy Ever After Playlist” by Abby Jiménez. Two years after losing her fiancé, Sloan Monroe still can’t get her life back on track. But an awkward pup with a “take me home” look in his eye is about to change everything. With her new pet by her side, Sloan is finally starting to feel more like herself. Then, after weeks of unanswered texts, Tucker’s owner reaches out. He is a musician on tour in Australia. And the bottom line: he wants Tucker back. Well, Sloan isn’t about to give up his dog without a fight. What if this Jason really loved Tucker? As their texts turn into long calls, Sloan can’t deny a connection. Jason is warm and kind and funny. It’s unclear what might happen when they meet in person. The question is, with his music career booming, how long will Jason really be around? And is it possible for Sloan to survive another heartbreak?
“Life is too short” by Abby Jiménez. When Vanessa Price quit her job to pursue her dream of traveling the world, she never expected to gain millions of YouTube subscribers who shared her joy in capturing every moment. For her, living every day to the full is not just a motto. Her mother and sister never turned 30 and Vanessa doesn’t want to take anything for granted. But after her stepsister suddenly leaves Vanessa in the care of her baby girl, life goes from “everyday adventure” to “the worst level”, now with bonus baby vomit in her hair. The last person Vanessa expects to show up to offer help is the attorney next door, Adrian Copeland. After all, she barely knows him. No one told her he was the secret trainer or that she would be spending a lot of time with him and her geriatric Chihuahua. Now she feels things she swore she wouldn’t feel. Because the only thing worse than falling in love with Adrian is finding some hope for a future she may never see.
