New children’s book encourages environmental activism for the whole family

Mr. Penny’s new adventure focuses on citizen activism to tackle the climate crisis

BALTIMORE, October 10, 2022 /PRNewswire-PRWeb/ — Author Lucile McConnell published the second book in Mr. Penny’s adventure series, “Mr. Penny for President: A Fable of Global Citizenship”. In this family-focused picture book, Mr. Penny highlights the importance of tackling the climate crisis and offers readers a way to take action.

The hero of the story is a lowly penny, who feels insignificant and overwhelmed in the face of the climate crisis. In his adventure, he finds the strength within himself to collect all the pieces of Earth from us to save Statue of Liberty rising tides of the climate crisis. Mr. Penny learns that the solution to the climate crisis lies within everyone – through connection to Mother Nature, to each other and to the greater good.

In “Mr. Penny for President”, McConnell merges the concepts of economic, environmental and intergenerational stewardship. McConnell wants to use Mr. Penny’s story not only to encourage discussion of this critical issue, but also to give readers hope.

50% of all proceeds from the sale of “Mr. Penny for President” are donated to environmental nonprofits and the remaining 50% are donated to UNICEF’s relief fund for Ukrainian refugee children out of respect for book illustrator, Igor Malova Ukrainian artist.
