OpenText, a provider of enterprise information management solutions, announced Cloud Editions 22.1 on March 2, 2022, which contains new and expanded functionality for managing records and using information for digital business change. It will allow organizations to monitor large amounts of data in the cloud and use it to improve the experience of customers, partners and employees.

OpenText also introduced new features across all five Cloud Editions software suites, the most notable being tools that target information-driven business transformations and supply chain robustness.

The platform’s Supplier Portal, which exists inside the Business Network Cloud, provides a seamless, simple, and secure way to access information, from researching and designing products to purchasing and distribution.

Who benefits from Cloud Edition 22.1?

Fred Sass, Senior Director, Product Marketing at OpenTexttold CMSWire that the IT departments that maintain the systems, including end-user employees of this software, will benefit from the new Content Cloud features.

Content Cloud can also:

  • Help HR and procurement departments initiate signature approvals from the main content repository, saving time and improving governance
  • Enable users of MS-Teams, a growing market sector, to take advantage of extensive ECM and MS-Teams integration
  • Help remote employees in areas like sales and field operations with the Core Share Mobile feature extension

The supplier portal, meanwhile, nested in the Business Network Cloud, is ideal for two key people:

  • The purchasing manager, enabling them to increase supply chain resiliency by automating connections to value chain participants for collaboration, accelerating partner onboarding, and minimizing disruption from supplier changes
  • The Chief Information Security Officer, enabling them to use instant solutions to prevent illegal access to corporate systems and comply with corporate security standards, third-party regulations and internal objectives

2021 has been a good year – what will 2022 bring?

Prior to OpenText’s March 2, 2022 announcement, its previous most comprehensive product release was Cloud Editions 21.4 in 2021.

“With Cloud Editions 21.4, we’re delivering more powerful applications and deeper integrations with leading business applications so customers can unify, govern, and leverage information to drive these transformations,” said Mark Barrenechea, CEO and CTO of OpenText, in a November 2021 press release.

The innovations featured in Iteration 21.4 were designed to alleviate friction in the workplace and supply chain. In addition to the Salesforce and Microsoft Teams interfaces, the Core Content functionality aimed to increase sales, support productivity and compliance, and connect content-centric business processes with collaborative capabilities.

In this November 2021 press release, company officials announced the release of:
