Reading sessions with Norwegian authors of children’s books

Book lovers will be delighted when acclaimed Norwegian children’s book authors Kristin Roskifte and Håkon Øvreås stop by SM Aura Premier’s Book Nook for a storytelling session on September 16.

The storytelling session at the SM Shopping Center Community Library is one of the exciting activities organized by the Royal Norwegian Embassy in Manila and NORLA (Norwegian Literature Abroad), which will also showcase the authors’ books at the fair Manila International Book Fair 2022 at the SMX Center Manila convention.

During the event, visitors to the mall will have the rare opportunity to meet author and illustrator Kristin Roskifte as she reads her latest book, Everybody Counts, a book of research and discovery, a book of counting and a picture book on humanity for children and young people. The book presents a playful take on the many connections and coincidences in our lives, and how each of us has a unique story, yet we are all part of the same group – the world.

The critically acclaimed book offers a unique approach to visual communication and has received some of the world’s highest accolades for children’s literature. In 2019 he was awarded the Nordic Council Children’s and Young People’s Literature Prize and won gold medals in Norwegian Visualt and Most Beautiful Books of the Year. He was nominated for Brageprisen and the World Illustration Award.

Everybody Counts has been translated into over 30 languages ​​and is one of the books in the United Nations SDG library in Norway selected to represent Sustainable Development Goal 10: Reduce inequalities within and between countries.

Child and adult readers, meanwhile, will be delighted to hear the reading of poet and writer Håkon Øvreås’ book on Brown (My Alter Ego is a superhero), his first book in a trilogy for young readers. It’s a story about the adventures of Rune (Rusty) and his wonderful ability to transform into the fearless superhero, Brune (Brown), and it’s a charming and powerful story about friendship, courage and defense. self.
