Nashville native Reese Witherspoon returns to Music City in October for an evening celebrating her new children’s book.
The Academy Award-winning actor and entertainment entrepreneur is hosting a family-friendly coming out party Oct. 7 at the Tennessee Performing Arts Center for “Busy Betty,” his first children’s book.
The evening includes an onstage conversation with Witherspoon and a guest to be announced, according to event promoter Outback Presents. Witherspoon plans to share childhood memories and the real-life inspiration behind the book’s protagonist, Betty.
Tickets go on sale Friday at 10 a.m., starting at $61.50 before fees. Each ticket includes a copy of “Busy Betty”.
Witherspoon releases “Busy Betty” on October 4, days before the Nashville release. In a statement to the media, she described the book as “born of my own upbringing”.
“From the time I had my own daughter, I’ve been looking for characters whose self-expression is front and center and holistically portrays the experience of being a young girl,” he said. she stated. “I hope Betty’s curiosity, enthusiasm and sense of adventure teaches our girls that not only can they do anything they want, but…anything is possible.”
