From Sunday 23 October, The Durango Herald’The weekend edition will be published on Sunday rather than Saturday.
With the change, print newspapers will be published on Wednesday, Friday and Sunday.
Many readers have told us that the gap between the Saturday and Wednesday editions is too long. The new Sunday publication allows for a full account of events on Friday evening and Saturday afternoon.
The change will not affect popular newspaper features such as grocery announcements and weekend calendars on Wednesday and Friday.
This change occurs at the same time as the Herald moves its printing operations from Farmington to Santa Fe New Mexican‘s plant. Its press equipment will provide increased print quality and a slightly different page size, half an inch shorter and wider. The change in dimensions probably won’t be noticeable to readers, but it will provide a convenient magazine format for the Herald’s popular special sections. The technical design of New Mexican’Modern s presses make this advantage possible.
While the printed paper is adjusted largely based on what we hear from readers, the Herald will continue to post stories online throughout the week. Forty percent of Herald subscribers have digital-only subscriptions, reading daily newsletters on www.durangoherald.com or digital reproductions of the newspaper on the eEdition.
Digital subscriptions continue to grow.
