VENICE — The 369 Art Gallery announced on Saturday the organization of an exhibition featuring some of the greatest emerging talents of the Saudi art scene, illustrating the diversity of Saudi cultural identity and questioning the recomposition of contemporary identity.
The 14 young artists and 34 works of art chosen for this exhibition explore the many universal styles, genres and mediums of contemporary art. This exhibition will take place in one of the most important cities of art, Venice, under the aegis of the Venice Biennale 2022, from July 13 to August 13, 2022.
This exhibition dedicated to Saudi visual artists introduces the concept of cultural recomposition and proposes its effects on the artists’ group interaction processes.
“Through this curation, we question the recomposition of art and the art of recomposition, a study made by different Saudi artists, from different angles, of their own cultural identity.
“It is also to reveal a cultural identity that has existed for thousands of years, a rich heritage and a heritage that is at the same time so new to the world, which discovers all its aspects,” the organizers said in their announcement.
The curatorial team led by Mona Al Abdullah and Maya Al Abdullah has 50 art exhibitions, two festivals and a Magnum award in its portfolio. —SG
