Jennifer Salmassian, the author of several Armenian children’s books, has announced the publication of her latest book titled “Shnubble’s Bubbles”.
Salmassian’s new story revolves around a young orca named Shnubble, with an overactive blowhole, who accidentally knocks down a kayaker with his bubbles. By reading this story, children will experience how an orca feels when called a “killer whale” and learn about many other unique qualities that the orcas of our coast possess. This story holds a double mission; it raises awareness of J pod’s endangered orcas and entertains through the use of dynamic illustrations by book illustrator Alcaraz.
“Shnubble’s Bubbles” is currently endorsed by the Salish Sea Orca Squad who write, “This enchanting short story is beautifully written and illustrated with fun facts about the critically endangered Southern Resident orcas. Salmassian is a retired teacher with a bachelor’s degree in history, a master’s degree in education and a degree in history. She currently works as a freelance editor. His previous books include: a book for meteorologist Dallas Raines titled “Chester and the Hot Air Balloon”; a book for the Armenian Relief Society Javakhk Fund with a translated version by Rita Vorperian; and a book called “Lucineh in the Sky”, which is a mixed Armenian/English book. She has also written an e-book called “The Lion of Mount Ararat”, which tells the touching story of a young Armenian American boy who meets his grandfather who has just arrived from Armenia and the precious weeks they proceed to connect.
