VANTIQ OBTAINS A PATENT TO ADVANCE THE STATE OF THE TECHNOLOGY FOR DISTRIBUTED SOFTWARE
Edge-to-Cloud Application Leader Expands IP Portfolio with Solution to Optimize Delivery of Event-Driven IoT Applications
Vantiq, Inc., provider of the leading low-code application development platform for real-time distributed systems, today announced that the company has been granted a U.S. patent for “Driven Application Deployment by events in an IoT environment”.
Awarded on July 26, 2022 to inventors Paul Butterworth, Evan Zhang and Steve Langley, the new patent, number 11,397,620 B2, describes proprietary technology developed by Vantiq to optimize the deployment and operation of distributed applications in various computing environments – including including data centers, public or private cloud infrastructure and/or edge computing and IoT environments.
“The importance of this unique technology is that you are automatically assured that the treatment is taking place in the optimal place and at the optimal time,” explained Paul Butterworth, Chief Technology Officer at Vantiq. “The end result is that performance is dramatically improved.”
Processing in the right place — cloud, edge, and anywhere in between
Allocation of processing is often done by trial and error, and Vantiq’s approach ensures that application processing happens in the best place at the best time, whether in the cloud, at the edge, or anywhere in between. both.
Democratize distributed computing
Vantiq provides the leading low-code platform for building and deploying real-time distributed solutions that connect IoT sensors, AI systems, and humans. In particular, the platform simplifies the partitioning and distribution of line-of-business applications, with user organizations being able to modify or rearrange their deployment choices very quickly – in seconds or minutes, without writing or reviewing any code. This patented approach democratizes distributed computing by allowing users to easily and efficiently optimize distributed computing strategies without legions of developers or years of time to get there.
The functionality described in the patent includes Vantiq’s approach to automatically assigning elements of a software application to different nodes in a given distributed computing environment. Vantiq creates these deployment templates, automatically and in real time, while giving users the ability to adjust their application deployment strategies through a graphical interface.
“This addition to our growing intellectual property portfolio is really important because no other company does what Vantiq does. The ability to dynamically design and adjust application deployment strategies is a huge time saver for our customers, allowing them to optimize performance without coding,” continued Butterworth. “We are thrilled with the patent award and congratulate Evan and Steve – and the entire Vantiq team – for driving this innovation forward and achieving a true breakthrough in low-code.”
About Vantiq
Vantiq provides a truly revolutionary platform that supports the use cases of the future, where massive computing and networking power resides in things like sensors and cameras, devices that fit in one hand human and the almost infinite capacity of the cloud. Vantiq’s platform is the first product that makes it much easier for companies to build truly real-time, truly distributed solutions capable of millisecond-level decision making and response time. . It integrates applications that live at the edge, inside purpose-built devices, and inside the cloud with almost no integration effort. Vantiq was founded in 2015 by software veterans Marty Sprinzen and Paul Butterworth, co-founders of Forte Software.
