The Land Sand Stone Art Festival returns to the Yorkshire coast for the first time in three years this weekend.
The festival will take place over the weekend of Saturday 10th to Sunday 11th September, organized by Responsible Fishing UK in association with Visit East Yorkshire.
Artists from across the UK – and beyond – will come together for a unique celebration of the creative possibilities of nature and the beautiful coastline of East Yorkshire.
The theme for the first day – Saturday September 10 – will be sand and stones. Bridlington’s North Beach will be transformed with an Artist Showcase, walk-in workshops and the Family Beach Art Challenge.
Visitors will have the opportunity to join artists James Brunt, Julia Brooklyn, Sean Corcoran, James Craig Page, Jon Foreman, Mark Antony Haden Ford, Tim Pugh, Richard Shilling, Laurence Winram and many more for an art session in open stone.
Visitors will see artists creating new works and can get tips and tricks on creating temporary art in nature and creating their own art on the beach.
On Sunday 11 September the theme of the day will be the earth and the venue will move to Sewerby Hall and Gardens. Visitors can join artists in the gardens, for a range of activities including a forest art trail, pick n mix land art and workshops.
