Smart said on his radio show that Ashford hit 22 MPH on GPS in Oregon, which would be in the top 5 for speed guys in Georgia.

This is Georgia’s third home game. Auburn is no Samford or Kent State to stir up emotion among Bulldog fans.

Kirby Smart texted radio co-host Jeff Dantzler this morning asking him to remind fans that the team needs them to be really loud.

“We haven’t had that kind of game yet, that kind of home environment,” Smart said on his Thursday night radio show. “What is the standard in Georgia? What is the level of our fans? We’ve never needed them so much to have an impact on a game for a team that hasn’t been on the road all year, been home for every game and is going on the road, the environment that should be created at the University of Georgia, I have expectations of it. I would be terribly disappointed if it were not so. »

Even with Georgia not being at the top of their game in the past two games, including their win from behind at Missouri last week.

“I know everyone has expectations of our team, me too and the expectations of our coaching staff and the expectations of the fans are that they control this game and make it really difficult to play in the environment. that we create,” Smart said. “That’s what a great house does. There’s nothing flippant about it.
